I am starting to perfect the art of creating bums. here is one i put together quickly. I used a regular wacom tablet for this. i was getting spoiled on the syntique, but it seems all that syntique practice has spilt over into the regular wacom skills. i might have been a little more precise with a syntique, though i am happy with the over all design here.
For the last couple of months, I have been without a scanner. Today, I finally dug it out of the closet and hooked it up. I want to start to share my sketchbook here on my blog. I received a Moleskine sketchbook for christmas and its nearly completely filled with little portraits. I have been drawing some from my imagination, but many inspired by riders on the subway.
I'm just hanging out at World Leaders today, doing odd assignments... working on a background for the venture brothers... boring... building a flash character for some probono cartoon, that could be fun, and waiting for more characters to come my way. so to pass the time, i drew this hideous cartoon creature. i don't know why.
I really love these wacom syntique monitors. Once you get used to it, you might never draw on paper again. All these recent images I have posted have been 100% generated in photoshop. it pretty much tripples production and makes scanning drawings obsolete. Now if only I could afford one for home. one day...
If I may... another go at Rat Pauper. this time, i changed the ears upon request, plus added a little atmosphere and supporting accoutraments. also... full color! yay!
I started scanning my story boards for the 2nd half of my "the Hulk" Hardstuff music video. here is a preview. naturally, the final animation will be in color, and super awesome.
Here is a mock up from one of Greg's bum villain designs.
I redrew this straight in photoshop, using the original sketch as reference. I tried to keep most of the proportions identical to the sketch, although I ended up making a few adjustments here and there.
I like this blog format. you can just draw something, then post it.
Today, I have been working on developing a "bible" for a concept I want to pitch as a cartoon show. i am starting to work up some of the character comps and pages to include into the pitch.
This is Kid Washington. I was assigned to do some concepts for the veterans affairs website. These were for the kids section. A friend suggested I try kid versions of us presidents. Thanks for the suggestion (greg), they didn't fly. Although, I still enjoyed working on them.
This is Beardy Weirdy. one of the characters Greg and I are Developing for our Brokeland Boozers tv show pitch. this character was conceptualized by greg and i just took the next step and cleaned up the design, anew.

Another design for the Venture Brothers Character Design test. Includes a head turn around.
These are some additional Bovine League designs I created for Andre Owens, Force Galaxia publisher. We are currently shopping around for pitch meetings with the networks to produce a pilot.
I was asked to create a little Illustration game at my Internship. this is for World Leaders Entertainment's probono client, the U.S. Government Veterans Affairs website (i think?)
Anyway, youre suppose to find the Differences between the two. (standard illustration game)
Welcome to my Blog. i decided to start one of these for some random reason. i am gonna try to fill this blog with news of all my creative efforts from animation, comics, illustration, music and musings.
first, i want to post one of the pics i've been working on with my band the Hardstuff.
